What This Test Measures
Measure the time from a visual cue to your response across eight valid trials. The result includes browser, display and input effects. It does not isolate biological reaction speed or measure tactical decisions.
What browser response time includes
Wait for the cue and respond without guessing. Eight valid trials complete the test; early clicks and response timeouts are recorded separately. Keep cue placement, input device and environment consistent. The saved response time includes the delivery of the cue and input processing, so it is not a direct measure of neural speed.
Read your reaction results
Review the individual valid trials alongside the median, early clicks and timeouts. The AI coach uses saved valid reaction samples for comparable session statistics. Variation alone does not identify fatigue, distraction or health status, and one fast response does not establish your typical performance.
How to Achieve an Accurate Test
- Do not try to guess or anticipate the color shift; clicking prematurely invalidates the trial.
- Keep the same input device and cue placement when comparing sessions.
- Repeat complete tests before interpreting a trend; treat changes in test settings separately.
Keep comparison conditions consistent
Input devices, display settings and browser workload can affect observed timing. Keep them consistent where possible. The test cannot estimate a universal delay correction or identify the cause of a slower result.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is raw reaction time the most important factor in VALORANT?
This test measures a response to a simple visual cue. It does not measure positioning, crosshair placement, anticipation or other match decisions.
Can this test classify my competitive level?
No. The product has no validated response-time thresholds for game rank or competitive readiness. Compare your own valid samples under matching conditions.
Can reaction time be improved with regular practice?
Repeated tests can show changes in your performance on this task. They do not establish improved general processing speed, health or game performance.
Why do my reaction scores fluctuate between days?
The task records response times, not their causes. Compare multiple valid sessions under matching conditions and inspect missing trials. Results cannot diagnose fatigue or determine whether you should play a ranked match.
Does high monitor refresh rate actually improve reaction scores?
Display settings can change the timing environment. The test does not calculate a hardware correction or guarantee a particular improvement from a monitor upgrade. Treat equipment changes as a new comparison baseline.
